The Dove’s Nest is ideally located only 10-minutes’ drive from main camp and has been skilfully nestled within the branches of an old Leadwood tree. Safely and securely located, this impressive treehouse offers guests three levels to soak in the surrounding wilderness. On the first level there is a secluded bathroom that overlooks the bushveld and a deep and luxurious sunken bath to enjoy a relaxing soak after a busy day on safari.
A few steps further up will take you to your very own private viewing platform where you can sip on sundowners while looking out over the waterhole frequented by giraffe, zebra, elephant and many other wildlife animals as they return to the waterhole to enjoy their last drink during daylight hours. The private viewing platform provides you with a panoramic 180-degree view of the open tree-lined vlei, bringing you closer to nature from a safe and secure vantage spot. Your afternoon at The Hide comes to a close by enjoying a game drive and sunset drinks at expertly chosen spots arount the Park. Once the sun fully disappears and darkness descends, your guide will take you back to camp where you can enjoy a three-course gourmet dinner and allows you to pack an overnight bag before embarking on a mini- night drive on The Hide’s private concession. From leopards to aardvarks, the night drive offers an exclusive opportunity to spot some of Africa’s most rare animals which are only active at night. Upon arrival at The Dove’s Nest, you will be given a full safety briefing and armed with a radio for complete peace of mind knowing your guide is available at any point during the night. When you’re ready to enjoy a restful night, a wooden stairway will take you up to the third floor, where the comforts of your luxury tent await.
Equipped with a safe, strong canvas material, the tent ensures your security and privacy throughout the night. The well-appointed spacious tent is furnished with a comfortable king size bed and bedside solar lamps. As dawn approaches and the sun fills the sky with warming colours, enjoy the crisp fresh morning-air over a cup of hot tea or coffee with your loved one.
Your guide will collect you around 6am and bring you back to camp for a delicious breakfast and recount of your adventures from a night in Africa’s best sleepout.
