PACK FOR A PURPOSE

Making a Big Impact

The Hide is a proud member of Pack for a Purpose, an initiative that allows travellers to make a lasting impact in the community at your travel destination.

If you save just a few kilos of space in your suitcase and bring supplies for area schools or medical clinics in need, you’ll make a priceless impact in the lives of our local children and families.

To see what supplies are needed for our project/projects, or visit the Pack for a Purpose website to find out more.

PACK FOR A PURPOSE

You can make a big impact on communities around the world by using the available space in your luggage to provide supplies to communities you visit.

Chezhou Primary School

The Hide Community Trust supports Chezhou Primary School which is located in the communal areas bordering the Hwange National Park and educates 348 children ages 4 through 14 years old. The country’s socio-economic environment is creating severe educational challenges for the school and the children. We aim to alleviate these challenges and ensure the school children receive a better education through improving access to learning aides, equipment and personal hygiene products. We also take the school children on game drives on Sundays, where they will learn about the area that they live in and the importance of conservation.

Sista2Sista

UNFPA Zimbabwe Sista2Sista girls’ mentorship clubs are touching the lives of many girls in the country. And The Hide Safari Camp is supporting this initiative with art supplies and other items donated by our guests through Pack for a Purpose. Launched in 2003, the Sista2Sista programme offers a safe place where adolescent girls can speak with mentors and each other about their problems. Girls in the club learn about sexual and reproductive health and rights, financial literacy, and how to navigate difficult social situations, including coercive relationships, whilst also improving skills and working together on projects designed to uplift their lives and their communities.
